JOANNA!!!!

1. Age: 37

2. Profession: Business Manager for a Highway & Bridge Contractor

3. When did you first start training at WOFB and how did you find out about us?
I joined in Dec2020. I saw my friend Isabel Ortiz @_isaortizz____ constantly posting about WOFB and noticed her getting fit and it quickly inspired me to reach out. After I started WOFB my very best friend Annette Martinez @mooniness told me she went to WOFB for many years. She’s a Master but she was off because she had just had baby. I quickly felt comfortable because I had at least 2 friends at this gym. My husband @jelanis_flores was also a huge inspiration to help kick me into gear.

4. Tell us about your sports & fitness background: I started my athletic journey as a competitive cheerleader from middle school all through college. I cheered for many years for different allstars cheerleading gyms. ⭐️📣Step Ahead Allstars; Legend Lady Jags; Miami Elite Allstars; and Encore Cheer. After having my first child @jaylin_novoa I would even take her to practice and place her at the front of the cheer mat to watch us cheer. As she got older, I decided to stop cheering to support my child in her athletic journey. Then after having my second child I decided that I needed to get back to the gym and to restart my fitness life.

5. Favorite Exercise (or type of workout): 🥊Kickboxing &  Running (well Jogging)

6. Least Favorite Exercise: Hip Thrusters & Burpees. Oh, I also truly dislike partner workouts.

7. What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health and overall fitness since starting WOFB? Overall, I feel healthier by having more endurance. I have joined a few challenges to test my own will power to keep my food choices in check. The best part of this experience is my jeans are loose on me and I feel good about that😊This experience has even benefited my family. We all try to live a healthier life style by exercising together and eating better. I’m not going to lie, my family and I enjoy food (especially sweets) but I feel its mostly about smaller portions of food and consistently staying active. The truth is “I workout for Cookies!” 🍪🍪

Jojo, we are so proud of you! Your consistency and dedication can be seen in your progress every week – in your strength, speed and mental focus. You’re stronger and fitter! Keep embracing your fitness life (….and a cookie every now and then).
