2. Profession: Printing Industry
3. When did you start training at WOFB and did you find out about us?
I started in Aug 2021 and I find out about WOFB online because I decided on April 16 that I had enough of postpartum depression and tired of being over 39lbs since my last pregnancy. On April 17th 2021, I started a rebirth to my fitness lifestyle that I have lived 4 yrs prior. I had lost 10lbs on my own but I knew I needed more and a google search for a women’s only gym lead to a meeting with a trainer. The moment I stepped in the door I knew I was home.
4. Tell us about your sports and fitness background: I am ex-pro athlete. At the age of 6 I started professional tumbling and won by my first competition in South Africa. From the age of 6 – 16, I competed in artistic gymnastic and rhythmic gymnastic. I was training to compete for a spot on the All-African Olympic Team when I had a back injury which lead me to boxing for a year because of the anger and disappointment I felt for losing my chance (due to high school bully) to compete in the Olympic Games. I did a year of boxing from 16 -17 before moving to the US. Once in the US, I wanted to be a gymnastic coach but that dream soon died. I never seriously started to workout again until I was in my mid twenties. I joined gyms here and there but never found a home gym until I joined WOFB.
5. Favorite exercise (or type of workout): All of them. I love working out. They all do the body good. I never weight lifted until WOFB. I didn’t think I was going to enjoy but it is what I look forward to the most.
6. Least Favorite Exercise: Running. I am now mini jogger🤣
7. What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health and overall fitness since starting WOFB?
The changes I see and feel is my strength. I can pick my hubby for about 30-45 seconds and he weighs about 180lbs The shape of my body is what I have had all my life expect when I had my last pregnancy. (I regret not working out during it🤦♀️) My goal starting bootcamp was to get back to 125lbs but over the past months I decided to love and embrace my thickness and changed my goal to looking better regardless of the weight. I honestly feel healthier, stronger and I eat cleaner. Cooking from scratch has always been a passion of mine but cooking healthier is now the go-to options. I find myself eating just a plate of veggies🙆♀️ I am no longer haunted by the scale number and embracing how I feel in a new pair of jeans💃 I am thankful for my rebirth of my healthy lifestyle.
WOFB was the extra push I needed to return back to the healthier version of me and WOFB is stuck with me for life, until the wheels fall off baby💃💃
WOW! So inspiring to read! You hit on so many important points… mainly that you “decided to love and embrace your thickness and change your goal to looking better regardless of the weight”. I applaud you for this! Weight really is nothing but a number on the scale. It doesn’t measure your muscle mass, how you feel, or how you look. And those are what really matter. If you aim for HEALTHY as your goal, you can’t go wrong. Thank you for the inspiration and keep doing what you’re doing. The changes in your physique and performance are speaking for themselves! CONGRATS!
