LIVE LIKE BELLA!

At the young age of 4 & 1/2, Bella was paralyzed from a tumor on her spine.  She was later diagnosed with Stage 4, Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma, an aggressive form of cancer.  After countless chemotherapy and radiation treatments spanning 6 years, Bella joined the angels in heaven yesterday.

In Bella’s short life, she managed to leave a tremendous impact on people across the world with her heart-warming smiles and the ability to remind us what life is all about.  The mantra, “LIVE LIKE BELLA”, which is sweeping the internet, serves to remind us that we are so grateful to be breathing and must never take anything for granted – enjoy every minute!  I like to constantly remind myself not to “sweat the small stuff”!

BACK TO THE GRIND……

Hey ladies!
With the 12-week challenge and the long weekend of boating & BBQs behind us, I’m hoping you got your “slack”eating out of the way!
It’s now time to get back on track.

Structure is good – at least that’s what I find myself saying about my eating habits after I decide to splurge a little!  I realize that I like planning my meals and feeling in control of what I’m putting in my mouth, even though it requires some effort on my part!  I feel good at the end of the day knowing that I am eating clean.

If you’re like most human beings, you need some regular motivation to keep things in check…   That’s what I’m here for!
Today’s motivation is to help you cut back on sugar….the evil sweetener!!

Check out the effects of sugar.  All I needed to see was the first point, speeds up aging and that’s enough for me to cut it out!  I don’t need any more wrinkles!

Ladies,

We have a fun-filled weekend ahead….

1.  Saturday morning is our tribute workout to the Oklahoma tornado victims.  It will be a 90-minute workout starting at 7:30am.  Fee is a $10 donation, from which all proceeds are going to those in need.

2.  Sunday we start the day off right…a beautiful 4-mile run along Key Biscayne.  We will meet in the parking lot, before the bridge at 7 am.

3.  Monday is Memorial Day – there will be 2 classes that day one at 10 am & the other at 6 pm.  If Monday is your day, you can come to either session.

is what our ranking system is all about, ladies!  We are implementing this system to keep you pushing harder and aiming higher, NOT as a means of comparing yourself to others.  We are all unique.  There is or will be someone faster, stronger, more agile, more flexible, etc. than you, but who cares!  What matters is that you are stronger, faster, etc – just plain BETTER than you were yesterday!  SO KEEP BEING AWESOME!

SOLE SISTERS – we’re meeting at the Key Biscayne bridge this Sunday for an awesome run!!  Be there at 7am!  Meeting spot is the parking lot before the bridge, as per usual!

My heart hurts…

when I hear of all the innocent people suffering in this world.  Bombings, natural disasters, mass shootings, war…it’s frustrating when you think of all the lives lost, especially the helpless children.  As a mother, I can’t even begin to imagine what that feels like….I don’t even like to entertain the thought because even the thought is too painful.

I feel helpless most of the time, but when I can extend a hand, I’m always willing.
The destruction that occurred in Oklahoma yesterday is so significant that it will be several days before they even know the full extent of the damage caused by the devastating tornados.  By donating just even $10 to the Red Cross we can help out – every bit counts.

This Saturday, May 25th, there will be a 90-minute workout in honor of the lives lost in Oklahoma.  The cost of the class will be $10 and every penny will be donated to the Red Cross on our behalf!  The calorie-scorching workout will begin at 7:30am.

RSVP here as soon as possible.  Spots will be available to the first 30!

Another chapter….

in your journey towards health and happiness has come to a close, HOWEVER, the accumulation of knowledge and experience you’ve gained will help you make permanent changes for a better you!  I’m referring to the 12 week challenge that culminated in our cool, 70’s photo shoot yesterday.  Thank you, I had a blast!  Although it’s always a stressful time for me, it’s equally rewarding when I see you step in front of the camera, looking so fabulous!

Let’s use the tools we’ve gathered in the last 3 months to tackle and even more productive 3 months ahead.  KEEP BUILDING A BETTER YOU, not just physically, but mentally and spiritually.

For those who didn’t complete the 12 weeks, IT’S NEVER TOO LATE.  Keep at it….keep trying.  Eventually, it will click!  It has to.  If you don’t give up, you will get there.

HAIR & MAKE-UP:
We have partnered up with the Paul Mitchell School this year!  They will be doing all hair & make-up in their facility in our mall.  I will post up the schedule as soon as I get all the names in!  You are to be at the school at the time posted.  DON’T BE LATE!!  The services are complimentary but you MUST tip a MINIMUM of $10-15 in CASH ONLY.  You must run your look by me so I can OK it, but this year’s theme is very simple and low maintenance so it’s shouldn’t be too much trouble.

WARDROBE:
Ladies, my apologies – I’m assuming things and I shouldn’t!  Yes, you are to bring your own outfits.  You can borrow, buy, etc… as long as you fit the part – ROLLER GIRL/DISCO with FITNESS.  On that note, I like the idea of roller skates, but bring some old school, hippie running shoes if you have (ADIDAS) as well since you will be in poses and safety might be an issue.

PHOTO SHOOT:
Once you have completed your hair and make-up, you make your way upstairs to the bootcamp room, where the photographer and I will be waiting for you!
